As per Board Policy 24 – Extension of Appointments for Designated Senior Academic Administrators, regarding the reappointment of the Provost, the following have been appointed or elected to the Committee:
- Stephen Toope, Chair

- Richard Johnston [Board of Governors]
- Sean Heisler [Senate]
- Darrin Lehman [Senate]
- Louise Nasmith [Senate]
- Anna Kindler [Direct Report]

The Committee is entering into a consultative process to define the main challenges of the portfolio, and in that context, to identify the main needs of the portfolio over the next five years. Following the deliberations of the Committee, I will make a recommendation to the Board of Governors concerning the possible reappointment of Dr. Farrar.
Please write or email the Committee in confidence through Patricia Stevens, Office of the President at 604-822-0663 or patricia.stevens@ubc.ca if you would like to make a written submission to the Committee. Submissions should be made no later than February 10, 2012.
I strongly encourage you to participate in this important reappointment process.
Sincerely yours,
Stephen J. Toope
President and Vice-Chancellor
