I am delighted to announce that the UBC Board of Governors has approved the reappointment of Ms. Barbara Miles, Vice-President Development and Alumni Engagement for a second five-year term, effective January 1, 2013.

Ms Miles brings an energetic, consultative and principled approach to her position. Her first term was marked by a careful building and merging of the Development and Alumni units into a cohesive team, and the launch of the “start an evolution” campaign. Barbara was commended for her passion and support of the University. She is recognized as one of the most influential development and alumni vice-presidents in Canada.

The Board was impressed by Ms Miles’ contributions over her time at UBC and the high regard in which she is held. In approving her reappointment, the Board acknowledged that Ms Miles has been an innovative member of the administration, and has done much to enhance the overall agenda at UBC.
